E2 tahani argument lfg PRIDE direct manifestations of the 2's pride include: - playing the part of the princess - demanding privileges - boasting - needing to be the center of attention it's obvious that tahani perfectly fits under every one of these points, so i don't think much elaboration is needed. continuing on her pride, we see tahani struggling to gather 'good' points in the arc where the main 4 for sent back to earth and were given a chance to prove they belong in the good place. she was doing all of assumedly good things (like philanthropy, etc) but her points never went up bc all her actions were insincere. nothing was out of pure good or altruism- she ALWAYS wanted something in return, whether it was praise, attention, etc. pride can make one perceived by others as shallow and ingenuine; this is demonstrated through eleanor's initial hatred for tahani. tahani's pride is the whole reason why eleanor used to hate her. she thought her parties, name-dropping, house, philanthropy, and gift-giving extravaganzas appeared insincere and fake. ppl were falling for it too, eleanor could see right through tahani's bs and hated how everyone was flattered. EGO-FLATTERY tahani could never directly ask for a favor from anyone, instead she'd rely on her flattery, by gift-giving and inviting ppl to her parties, and throwing events. this way ppl would be the ones to come up to her, and offer assistance or ask to help her out instead. this also gave her the chance to decline these offers, so that ppl would continue to insist, all further culminating her image. however, tahani still fails to fall under the 3's achievement orientation. she didn't desire value, she didn't necessarily desire to be successful either- she wanted to be viewed as "helpful," and all she desired was love. LOVE NEED the reason why michael had picked someone who didn't talk to be her "soulmate" to torture her, is bc that would mean she wouldn't be able to be reciprocated by them; they can't verbally appreciate her nor can they express their love for her. when she found out "jianyu" wasn't actually her soulmate, she was in denial, since this would mean she didn't have a soulmate. out of disbelief and desperation, she began pursuing chidi, insisting that he was her soulmate and not eleanor's. once again, this goes back to the 2's pride and entitlement. and for the while she believed chidi was her soulmate, she viewed eleanor as her competition; both of them competing for chidi's love. surprise, this all leads back to her childhood trauma and backstory regarding her parents and her sister. all tahani ever desired was to be loved by her parents, but they never did due to her sister always being "better" than her, therefore making her sister more "worthy" of her parents' love. it was not ambition nor competitiveness that was fueling tahani to beat her sister, she was never satisfied w a title or a trophy, like a true 3 would've been, she was competing for the sake of her parents' love and that was all she craved. all of tahani's development in the series is her learning how to live w out needing to be validated. the judge's test given to tahani is direct proof of this. when she had to walk down the hallway where every room was filled with everyone she ever met talking about their opinion on her. she was constantly tempted by opening the doors and finally gave in when she reached her parents' door. also she's clearly a rejection type (2) > an attachment type (3) rejection types are defined as "the amplification of one need to distract from the pain of not getting the other." rejection specifically manifests in the 2 through amplifying their need for relationships and connections due to having being rejected previously. pleaseee this is tahani personified. regarding her subtype - the iv consensus is already for social dominant so i don't feel the need to expand on it, and the user @[Something You Can Never Have] already suggested and elaborated on social 2s in relation to tahani here: https://www.personality-database.com/comment/4385511 my only concern is her being typed as so/sp, i don't see how she wouldn't have sx in her variant stacking, she is so obviously sp blind to me. literally all of the comments on this page are like "she's the most obvious 3w2 ever," "she's the definition of 3w2," and it's so painful for me bc she's a TEXTBOOK 2. in conclusion, TAHANI'S ENTIRE MINDSET IS "GIVE TO GET" !! but pls this page is dead, i hope i can see her being typed correctly one day. main source: character and neurosis
