Tarzan MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Tarzan? Tarzan is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - so/sx - 946 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.

I think Tarzan is an ISFP for a couple of reasons. The whole movie is about finding your sense of identity, and who you choose to be. In that regard, there is a large difference between an ISFP and an ISTP. An ISFP has dominant Fi, while an ISTP has Fi demon. That's a BIG difference. The whole movie is Tarzan coming to grips with who he wants to be, and who he chooses to identify as. The reason this is such a big deal for Tarzan is because his sense of identity was never firm, as he was always discrimated against for being who he is. I think his inferior Te is also apparent, because when the Chief (who is an ISTJ with secondary Te) tells Tarzan not to get other humans involved because of the unknown variables (which is a pretty good argument), Tarzan neglects his order because he is learning about who is from Jane and company. He chooses his own values over the immediate safety of the tribe. Tarzan's dominant function is Fi, his entire worldview is based off of it. So it is really important for Tarzan (and other Fi dominants in general) to figure this out early on. His other functions also branch off of his identity. He uses Se (learns how to swing, climb more effectively, etc) in order to prove to the others that despite him being different, he will be a part of the tribe regardless. An ISTP would more likely just learn to be more effective at those things just as a side-effect of it being logically reasonable for him to learn (since he is a member of a Gorilla troop). They wouldn't care so much about proving themselves against popular opinion. Also, just look at the soundtrack of the movie. Disney always creates songs that resonate with the theme, and what the characters involved are thinking/ feeling, it helps establish a constant narrative in their films. Let's take a look at some of song titles the creators of the movie decided to orchestrate. "Son of Man" "Two Worlds" "Strangers like Me" Do you see something in common with these titles? They all focus on Tarzan's struggle to define who he is. Do you really think a Ti dominant would place this much emphasis on this?

Biography

Tarzan is the titular protagonist of Disney's 1999 animated feature film of the same name. Tarzan was raised by a colony of gorillas after his parents were killed by the bloodthirsty leopard Sabor. Tarzan would grow to become the valiant protector of the natural world, all the while remaining blissfully unaware of his true heritage, until a chance encounter with Jane Porter, a human woman.
