What personality type is Ecbert? Ecbert is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - so/sp - 358 in Enneagram, SCOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.
He was my one of my favorite character in the series, definitely my favorite Saxon. Cunning, charming, machievallaic and a master manipulator of events. Yet at the same time a deeply troubled man conflicted over his ruthless pragmatism and his esoteric sympathies towards Europe's pagan heritage i.e Ancient Rome which he sees as the intellectually superior of the current dogma that has replaced it but he can never openly admit this. Due to his realization of the consequences that would entail. He craves prestige and power too much to risk that. Definitely, a Ni user who also made his choices based on long-term predictions and mastered playing the "long-game" even in death he transferred his crown to his son in order to be able to barter with the Vikings who had him hostage a deal he knew (but they didn't) would be worthless since he had lost his authority as King.
