John Petrucci MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is John Petrucci? John Petrucci is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/sx - 548 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.

I think John Petrucci fits the nature of an Si-base more than an Ni-base. He is very creative and insightful, but any type can be. I don't see John Petrucci as someone who naturally goes deep within the meanings or metaphorical contexts of music. He is able to do it well of course(most likely due to role Ni), but his focuses are much more mechanically technical, and his way of conveying things are quite straightforward and grounded. His interests are also more physical, such as bearding, grilling, sound-engineering, technology. If you watch his information tapes, they also heavily emphasize physical congruence with the instrument. I think him being INTP 5w6 SLI makes perfect sense, giving him a much more analytical, technical focus on the physical techniques. I like to compare him to Ferb, who is also an INTP 5w6 SLI. Both are creative technicians, who, although, tend to be more grounded and less ideational. Buckethead is a better example of an ILI guitarist, and he is also a 5. His works are less straightforward, and much more imagery-based. They also seem to describe incomprehensible states and abstractions within music(his extreme atonalism and randomness), as opposed to the internally-satisfying and crafty nature of John Petrucci's solos. Looking at his quotes and interviews shines this thought process well. He's very dreamy, hesitant, and philosophical(insert his quotes about following internal truth and critiques of human animalism). Petrucci is more of a grounded. He is experimental, but he doesn't immerse himself in the discontinuous, abstract state like Buckethead.
