Growing up is realizing Howard was never the bad guy EDIT: Howard my beloved I'm so sorry you're deemed as a crackhead now too lol He is an interesting character, he comes across as both a doormat for Chuck and a despotic boss when crossed. Te-Si is the most unforgiving function stack when it comes down to vouche for others, these characters have a pretty immovable idea of how the world works and things are and error-frame it's not a thing they have time to experience often. Howard has an image to uphold and when is shattered by something out of his control he's easily angered. His ulmost loyalty is towards HHM, the legacy of his father and Chuck, his mentor and then the absolute rest of the world. When he decides to trust Kim's judgament but she fails to live-up to her word that Jimmy is to be professionally trusted he punishes her by giving her the cold shoulder and a work shes overqualified for. Funnily enough and for the most part Howard endures quite well petty, small and personal offenses or fits of rage when they're to be expected or there are reasons for them to exist (Jimmy and his usual animosity toward him or Kim infuriated at his lack of touch after Chuck's death). He's absolutely Fe blind, yeah, man has a way with words as most lawyers do and is very socially adept so what? I said it in a reply before but at an interpersonal level he's just a tactless and dry communicator and he can't read Jimmy nor Kim for s**t. Not to mention Ni. No high Ni user would have broken their relationship with their most valuable and skilfull employee (Kim) out of spite without stopping to think for a minute she would eventually bitterly fire back. I'm not argumenting for his enneagram cause I think it's correct: Howard's such a social 3 incarnate, looks included, that it hurts to see and it's sad how pathetically it desintegrates into a 9 when he's in a dark hour.

Biography

Howard G. Hamlin is an American corporate lawyer from Albuquerque, New Mexico, best known as the owner and CEO of Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill (HHM), a large and respected law firm that originally established by Howard's father George and Chuck McGill, who later added Howard as one of the managing partners. Howard Hamlin was a successful member of Albuquerque's legal community, and spoke and acted in a thoughtful and professional manner. However, due to his golden-boy image and position as a name partner of HHM, he sometimes came off as arrogant, a trait that vexed Jimmy as he considered Howard responsible for his station in life. Many of his decisions came across as unfairly strict, such as when he reassigned Kim to document review as punishment for losing the Kettleman case; giving him the image of an uncaring corporate overlord from Jimmy's perspective. He initially blocked Jimmy from working as a lawyer at HHM, although this was revealed to be at the behest of Chuck.
