What personality type is Mipha? Mipha is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sx - 926 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.
I do think the IxFJ votes have some merit, but I personally see more Fi in her than Fe. For example, after Link defeats Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Mipha says, which is directed to her father, "I want you to know... I have always followed my heart." This gives me the sense that her actions come from an internal moralistic perspective rather than the direct influence of others. We could also take into account Mipha's role in defeating the Calamity and why she committed to this role. When Zelda asks her to pilot Vah Ruta, Mipha, in her diary, writes, "My heart knew at once what to do. I agreed without reservation." Here, as in the previous example I provided, she refers to the "heart," which, again, is a metaphor that points towards internal feelings and values. Her agreement to help, then, seems to be a decision of Fi rather than Fe, because, while she wants to protect her people and help save Hyrule from the Calamity (not just an Fe thing, by the way), Mipha also notes that this would give her an opportunity to help Link. As evident in her diary and in her DLC cutscene, Link's involvement in defeating Calamity Ganon seems to encourage her to pilot Vah Ruta, which could look like Fe, but I think it is more of an Fi desire, since we understand that she has feelings for Link, and, certainly, this would bring her closer to him. There are other examples I could point to, but overall, it seems to me that, in decision making, Mipha's desires and values play a significant role, and she, first and foremost, turns to her own feelings and moral codes to judge the best response. Though perhaps a bit of a stretch, this could even demonstrate inferior Te as well, since she seems to prioritize her values over logic. (See her diary where she considers why she should pilot Vah Ruta.) Admittedly, I have a very minimal understanding of the cognitive functions, and I am still learning. This is just how I view her character at the moment. :) If someone could explain how she uses Ni-Fe, that would be interesting! Unfortunately, many of the sources I have read that justify their stance on Mipha as INFJ are relying on 16Personalities stereotypes and broad descriptions. INFPs can be compassionate, kind, protective, and loving as well; these qualities are not exclusive to the INFJ.
Biography
Spoiler warning ⚠️ Mipha is the Princess of the Zora, a friend of Link, and one of the Champions. She is described as being introverted and has a gift for healing. Mipha was in love with Link and made him Zora Armor before her death during the Great Calamity.
