Solomon gave himself the mission of seeking what was valuable in life, he sought to understand the meaning of his existence; he delved into everything, knew all desires and satiated all the demands of carnal desires, and even so he points out how useless it is to satiate the flesh. He then concluded that life was a search for wisdom. All proverbs and ecclesiastes is about the denial of the desires of the flesh and how they are a waste of time. He supports his life in wisdom, the real reward is the knowledge he has acquired. He also points out that every effort he made in his mission to know the pleasures was like “running after the wind”.

Solomon (/ˈsɒləmən/; Hebrew: שְׁלֹמֹה, Shlomoh), also called Jedidiah (Hebrew יְדִידְיָהּ Yedidyah), was, according to the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament, Quran, and Hadiths, a fabulously wealthy and wise king of the United Kingdom of Israel who succeeded his father, King David. The conventional dates of Solomon's reign are about 970 to 931 BCE, normally given in alignment with the dates of David's reign. He is described as king of the United Monarchy, which broke apart into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah shortly after his death. Following the split, his patrilineal descendants ruled over Judah alone.
