What personality type is Takasu Ryuuji? Takasu Ryuuji is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sp - 926 in Enneagram, RCOAN in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
The way he takes care of Taiga and his Mom is clear Si-Fe to me. Si serves as a way for him to remember certain preferences Taiga has. The way he knows how certain things offend her, the way she likes her food, and many other things are what an Si dom users tend to remember about the people they're with, it's honestly such a cool super power. Things like this allow him to approach his decisions very carefully by examining what he knows is "tried and true" (which is similar to how he uses his Ti). The pool scene is a good example of how Ryujis Si works. He was aware of how embarrassed Taiga would feel if she was caught using cushions on the chest area of her suit because he knows that being smaller is something that Taiga hates being discriminated and made fun of for. So to prevent this he quickly acted to put them back into place before anyone noticed. All of his decisions revolve around a similar dynamic. He doesn't necessarily plan ahead, all of his ideas (Ne) tend to be something that helps Taiga in the moment, which is what makes him such a good sensory pleaser for her because he's constantly back-tracking to what he knows she will like (Si-Fe). More on the Ti, the way he's constantly prying into Taigas life to figure out what is bothering her and why it is bothering her is such a healthy Fe-Ti dynamic. He pretty much does this with all of his close friends and loved ones. Inf Ne is often shown in his mental roadblocks to new possibilities. Being an Si dom means that the majority of the time your decisions will stem off of what you already know to be true, so his inf Ne often causes him to be stumped when presented with or asked for a new way to approach things. Reasons why I don't think Ryuji uses Ni: He's too focused on what he has observed in the physical world, not the possibility of things, and when he does consider possibilities this often tends to be very broad and underdeveloped ideas (Ne). Si-Fe: Creates decisions based on what they have seen affect others (physical(past-present)) Ex: This person said before that they don't like sushi, so I will pick a restaurant that doesn't have sushi. Ni-Fe: Creates decisions based on what will/can affect others (non-physical(present-past-future)) Ex: This person said they don't like sushi, so I will make sure that we never eat any fish just in case their distaste in sushi means they don't like seafood. Biography
Ryuuji Takasu (高須 竜児, Takasu Ryūji) is the series' main male protagonist. He is a sixteen-year-old high school student in his second year, in class 2-C. Due to biological inheritance, his sanpaku eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent and cause many misunderstandings. He lives in a fatherless family with just his mother and, due to this, Ryuuji has learned to be self-sufficient. He is good at cooking and keeps everything in his house clean (to the point of obsession), and also excels at sewing. Ryuuji often helps Taiga Aisaka with domestic chores which she is otherwise unable to perform. At school, he is known as "the only person able to stop the palmtop tiger", referring to Taiga's nickname. Due to the misunderstandings due to his looks, as well as how he grew up, he tends to look down on himself, but he's actually kind and selfless even to a fault. Despite his troubles, Ryuuji is rather calm in most situations and is responsible, smart and has great grades.
