Naranjo describes the Social 6 as a rigid disciplinarian who finds security in structure, order, rules and community, they are also many times described as being able to come off as cold and distant. "The Social Six is a stronger character that the Self-Preservation Six, and this greater strength has to do with having more certainty than uncertainty. The Self-Preservation Six is an insecure person-they hesitate because they are not sure. He was only able to talk to Beth after 2 things happened: 1. Phil, a man who is, for Andy, a respectable authority figure/mentor (or even father figure, I might say), discovered things and talked some sense into him (fitting with 6's need for guidance and compliance to authority or father figures); and 2. He discovered Beth also had, not one, but two affairs, and even though he himself had one, he clearly felt betrayed, which also is a HUGE deal for 6s, who extremely fear betrayal and untrustworthiness.
