So Charles’ AP/PY votes are rather confusing to me. Here’s why I think Charles is an LFVE > VLFE (Spoilers for DRDT!! But why are you clicking on a DRDT page if you haven’t caught up, the last episode has been out for almost 10 months now.) 1L > 2L This is likely the most confusing typing for me. He’s very clearly a 1 L, not 2. Charles usually isn’t very interested in others ideas and logic. He’s very self-assured in his deductions, in his claims, and in his logic. This is best exemplified in Chapter 2 episode 15, where he talks about how he has free reign to make rash judgments calls on others intelligence, while everyone else is not qualified to judge others based on rash assumptions. Very self-positive but others-negative. And when J attempts to rebuttal Charles on Ace’s methods of being the culprit, he swiftly puts an end to her argument, and says “do not attempt to correct me unless you enjoy being wrong.” He’s really self-assured in his intelligence and logical prowess, and not very accepting of others ideas and judgments, which I feel makes it rather unlikely that he’s a 2L. 3V > 1V I think I can see the reason why people typed him 1V, but I think 3V makes so much more sense for him. He’s rather insecure about his independence and ability to do for himself. Whenever Whit tries to help him in his FTE’s, he gets rather angry and tells Whit to stop treating him like an idiot. And when Charles sees Teruko get a papercut, after he freaks out for a bit, he insists he’s fine, saying “I refuse to be weak”, and elaborates that he hates being treated with pity, implying that he doesn’t want people to think he’s helpless, he wants people to him like he’s capable. He’s very insistent on his ability to be self-sufficient, and insecure when seen as someone needing of aid. I think this implies that he’s not very confident in his volition, but rather insecure/aggressive. 2F > 3F Tbh I think the reason he was voted 3F was just because people thought that 1V, 2L, & 4E made too much sense and F had to go somewhere, so 3 it was. But I think he fits in with 2F rather well. He gets rather bored pretty quickly and tries to interact with others due to that boredom, implying that he’s both Self-positive and others-positive when it comes to his F position. He also says he enjoys raising succulents, and rather attuned with others needs (specifically Teruko’s). Although I do admit, both times he is “attuned” with Teruko’s needs, it’s kinda obvious what she needs (when her stomach growls or when she cuts her finger), but he does offer up his gloves to Teruko when she does cut her finger. I admit this is the weakest reasoning I have out of my three arguments. If anyone would like to add on, I’d appreciate it (or if you disagree with me, voice your opinions in the replies.)
Biography
While there’s no doubt that the Ultimate Chemist is very educated and talented in the field of chemistry, Charles Cuevas has no qualms on using those facts to lord his intellectual superiority over others. He looks down upon those he views as less intelligent. On the flipside, Charles is easy to tease and often loses his cool if made fun of.
