What personality type is Kaalaa Baunaa (काला बौना)? Kaalaa Baunaa (काला बौना) is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - so/sx - 514 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, LII in Socionics.
(Just wanted to step in to quickly express my opinion, this isn't a full-fledged argument.) After finishing the story and as someone who went through an Astrology phase myself, I think Kaalaa seems more of an INTP than an INFJ to me. We should not equate astronomy nor astrology to Ni. Astronomy is an actual science with rigurous logical processes to prove something as valid, meanwhile astrology is also a logical system with its own intricacies just like typology, especially in Reverse: 1999's universe, where it holds some validity especially among arcanum scientists. In more academic circles, it requires a good use of Te and Ti, to be able to see what's on the table and to make a good conclusion out of it through logical means. Kumar, as an INTJ, saw arcanist science as objective, and therefore didn't see value in proving it to the same humans who expulsed her from the university. In her eyes, humans were blind to what for her was obvious as a half-arcanist. Rejection of what she perceived was also a rejection of her as a person. (Te-Fi) Kaalaa, on the other part, as an INTP, sees value in trying to prove her theory through means empirical to humans, her approach is more similar to Ti, which would address the matter in a way more similar to "They don't understand? Then we have to explain it using an approach they will be able to comprehend.". (Ti-Fe) I don't think Kaalaa prioritizes Fe over Ti, as she is shown to focus on making her own investigation about the stars ever since she was a child, rather than prioritizing what other people think is morally right to do, she even walked all the way up the mountains to the observatory herself out of curiosity, which I think gives a hint to auxiliary Ne. Ni as explained by Jung is also a function which is able to understand fundamental concepts more quickly and with less thought put into it, as a consequence this makes the person's perceptions not understandable to the majority of people. Kaalaa on the other hand despite showing a certain degree of Ni use tends to not fully trust its conclusion until explanation is achieved by logical means, which further puts doubt on INFJ as her type. — For Socionics, I think Kaalaa is a LII (-Ne subtype, which can look like an ILI-Ni or IEI), it also matches with what's said about Quasi-Identity relationships. ➵ "Quasi-identity is an intertype relation between two people from opposing quadras who have similar, but not identical functions, and no suggestive influence over the other. Partners typically have a lot to say about the same kinds of topics (as do, typically, any members of a single club), and their conversations gravitate to these common spheres of interest, but they take entirely different approaches to every subject." Kumar saw a small version of herself in Kaalaa, they both flocked to the same fields of interest and enjoyed the process together. They also shared high Ni and Ti, which helped them speak in a language they both could understand. Yet when it came to the application of these concepts in reality, they showed completely different values. Meanwhile Kaalaa followed her suggestive Fe and tried to realize her desire of helping as many people as possible, Kumar sank into her own melancholy as she felt all the rejection that came from people, and how she was rejected by both arcanists and humans; she therefore felt that to be rejected by everyone was to be rejected by the whole world, which is pretty much an insult to the feeling of belonging she desired as a person who valued Fi.
