What personality type is Mimzy? Mimzy is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - sp/sx - 278 in Enneagram, SCUEN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
As someone who legitimately loves Mimzy in all her obnoxious ridiculousness and seeks out all her content, I think she’s actually an e7 and not an e2! First off, I think all her problems stem more from gluttony than from pride! One of the more obviously e7 traits, as an e7 myself guilty of the same exact thing to a much lesser degree, is the way she handles money! She seems to borrow money compulsively for whatever reasons she see fit and sees as a “need” in the moment! She tells the hotel she borrowed 50 grand from loan sharks! She likely used a lot of it right away in that exited “I have money now, I can finally get this and do this!” way that I’m all too familiar with! We can understand by Husk talking to Alastor about Mimzy that this is absolutely not the first time she’s done this and in fact it’s been Alastor’s and Mimzy’s relationship for likely as long as they’ve been friends! Mimzy gets into impulsive trouble and Alastor takes care of it for her and the cycle repeats endlessly! I think it’s also important to note that e2s are still at their core “The Helper!” They do things for other people in order to be needed! A perfect example of this is Rosie, who can convince people into selling their souls to her with her selling point being that she’ll take care of everything for them and do whatever they need! Mimzy simply feels entitled to Alastor’s help and his friendship, seemingly without giving him much in return besides her “sparkling” company! Which, in fairness, seems to be enough for Alastor, who’s a fellow e7 and lives for entertainment and also loves to devour people and make a whole show of being the “big, bad Radio Demon!” He isn’t so attached that he minds not seeing his friend for weeks until she needs something or wants to go out dancing perhaps! Also, as much as self-preservation 2 sounds accurate, self-preservation 7 sounds even more accurate and similar in a lot of key ways! Cheerful and friendly they maintain a light-hearted approach to life that allows them to skip over connection with more direct experience and difficult emotions.” Meeting their own needs through connections and alliances, their own surrogate family in which they have the “privileged” position, (like the sp 2 feels they should have a special sort of privilege, but they come from different places and have a different approach to getting that privilege!) that all sounds exactly like Mimzy and her relationship with Alastor, and the funny thing is, it’s Alastor too, so it’s funny that they’re two peas in a pod and both think the other is part of their group of allies they’ve built around themselves and both see themselves as being in the privileged position! 😆 I know Mimzy hasn’t had a lot of screen time yet, but what we know so far is that she’s a showgirl and was when she was alive, as well, and would spend time at the speakeasies with Alastor drinking and dancing all night! In Hell, she owns her own nightclub called the “Ragtime” and I’m sure she still continues to perform and drink and dance whenever she likes! We know she’s impulsive and borrows money she can’t pay back, steals things (like the car) which she then crashes into the loan shark’s girlfriend, and then still tries to justify and rationalize her actions by saying she “had it coming!” She does try to put on a cute face and stress how lovable she is to get what she wants, but for most self-pres 2s I’ve ever known, this behavior has been an unconscious fawn-response and survival mechanism more than anything truly manipulative and phony like Mimzy does! Also, if she were truly an e2, and Alastor was her oldest and dearest friend, and so far her only friend that we’ve seen and therefore her sole source of the love and validation and closeness that e2s crave, why would she flip him off and storm away and burn seemingly one of her only bridges? And unlike Rosie, who’s is the overlord who has advertisements stating that she’ll do anything and everything for you for the price of your soul, Mimzy doesn’t seem interested in doing anything except for what she wants, when she wants! I being a 7w6 fall somewhere in the middle of those two, but there ya go! I hope we get to see more of Mimzy!! 💖
