I’ve seen insubstantial arguments for Fi-Te and lack thereof for Ti-Fe so I’ll throw my hat in the ring. I’ll begin my argument by listing his actions (and mentioned actions) throughout the show and their correspondence with judging functions, followed by a deconstruction of common arguments. I’m happy to discuss this so don’t be afraid to reply with a counter argument, though if I consider you disrespectful or facetious I won’t respond. Our first introduction to the character is in the opening scene, which unfortunately does not convey much information; all that’s stated is that he brought “Fantastical ideas” to heaven and was considered a troublemaker by the seraphim/angels. We know he gave humanity free will alongside Lillith but we don’t know why, he could’ve done this because of some internal value, or a logical reason, but as of now his actions in heaven are inconclusive. The clearest indicator of Fe, however, is his attitude towards seeing Charlie calling him after years of distance. His relationship with Charlie seems to exist based on her approval, which heavily implies an awareness of Charlie’s feelings, values and emotions towards him, implying Fe. He didn’t even consider reaching out to her until there was a sign that she wanted to see him. Whilst this can be argued as Fi valuing his daughter, I’d counter by saying Fi-Te users tend to barge into the lives and problems of their loved ones, will do anything to fix them, and won’t do otherwise unless it’s for a very, very good reason; they’ll use their Te to systematize the problem and find the best solution to fix relationships with no consideration of their emotional state (This is not me saying Te is callous, just different). My point being that if Lucifer had Te he would not have gone back into Charlie’s life with a mere indication of being liked by her and would've opted towards being more proactive in mending their bond. Granted, it’s implied in More Than Anything that he was forcefully separated from Charlie, so this section of the argument is still up in the air (Though I feel this would go nowhere even if that information was revealed). His Electro-Swing battle with Alastor was the closest I’ve gotten to believing he was a Te user; he consistently uses material objects and power to appease Charlie, something a Te user is prone to do. However, if we look at the context of the situation: Lucifer is only doing this because he doesn’t know his daughter, so I’d argue he persuades Charlie this way due to negligence and not cognitive function. There’s also the whole jealousy spiel with Alastor but this falls under both Te and Fe so I won’t delve further. Another behavior I’ve noticed throughout the episode is his proclivity to swerve away from the topic of the hotel whenever Charlie brings it up (“Yeah this guardrail needs work HEHEHEHEHE”). If he were an Fi user that cared deeply for Charlie would he not be more prone to point out the discrepancies and irregularities of the hotel, like how Charlie does when discussing Hell towards hell and heaven’s residents? I’m aware the position of thinking and feeling functions are switched between EnxP’s but functions in that position, especially at the age these characters are, have relatively balanced usage (give or take 60/40). Him sparing her feelings at first doesn’t mean he’s more likely to be an Fi user, only that his feeling function is somewhere in the middle of the stack (this is before I go into people that value their tertiary over their auxiliary but that’s a different discussion). I’d argue the function displayed is Fe because that swerving implies he cares enough about Charlie’s values to not quash them with his Ti just yet. He only resorts to deconstructing her beliefs when she refuses to listen, not when he first hears of the hotel. Fi is an awareness of one’s own values (and emotions to some), so does this not imply an awareness of what Charlie values and not an example of forcing his own onto Charlie? Granted it’s been a long time since they talked, which could be a reason he didn’t use his supposed Te, but I don’t think a Te user would hold back honesty for that long because Lucifer wouldn’t have that awareness of what Charlie values and therefore be more prone to bluntness. It is true that Ti users are prone to deconstruct and illustrate logical discrepancies, but unless the Fe is inferior we don’t do it at the cost of hurting the people we care about (even then I find Ti doms can regret what they’ve said after the fact), you’ll find we only do it towards people we have no attachment to, which in Lucifer’s case he clearly does not.
