i can definitely see why people would type him as 3, but his mindset and behaviour don’t correlate with it. todd was the 'role model agent' when he was at odd squad, but he didn't really want or work for that perception. he doesn’t place a lot of value in other people's praise, which is why he turned against odd squad in the first place. he gets bored of admiration. he exhibits his intellectual skills and excelled at his work, like a 3 would, but he wasn’t driven by a desire for success or status. the title of best agent was only given to him because of his natural abilities, not because he strived for it. while he does want to be seen as an impressive person, what he truly wishes to show off is unique superiority. his heart type is 4; despite the recognition he received, his feelings of being different drove him to build his identity as a villain. he wanted to freely express his oddness and his passion for the unusual, destroying his highly praised agent status to do so. the self image of 3s are tied to social feedback, while those of 4s are based on emotions. odd todd’s villain persona disregards social feedback and entirely revolves around his emotions, such as excitement from creating anomalies, anger towards the squad for being in his way. quoting olive’s description of him in training day, “todd was the best of the best, but he never really fit in.” todd’s reflection of self wasn’t focused on being acknowledged as the best. it was on the idea that he was distinctively gifted, never fitting in because he was special. his gut type and core type is 8; todd’s priority is having control over his life. he was sick of working in a job that grew monotonous to him, seeking out challenges and ending up causing chaos as a result. his main need is to keep a firm grasp on his situations and what path it will lead him down. once working at odd squad was feeling dull, he needed to take charge of his career. he chooses to leave an impact on the world by trying to change it and make it more interesting. imposing his vision by committing odd crime, odd todd aims to rule his own ‘todd squad,’ where they transform the world to suit his ideal. he has a strong drive to do what he wants, and he refuses bend his will no matter what others think of him.
Biography
Todd was a former agent at Odd Squad who was previously partnered with Agent Olive. Soon, he became bored with Odd Squad and their mission: to fight oddness and do no odd. Believing oddness made the world more interesting, he became Odd Squad's number one villain and tried to shut the organization down numerous times. He was later tricked by Otto into giving up his evil ways, and he resorted to gardening in the process. As of Season 2's finale, he is (somewhat?) redeemed and currently runs a villain rehab. #JoshuaKilimnik
