What personality type is Spanner? Spanner is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/sx - 514 in Enneagram, in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.

Whoa, he’s an introverted mechanic?? He m u s t be an ISTP. I’m kidding, I’m kidding. I swear his Ne is so obvious though, so I’m not sure why he’s voted for anything other than INTP. But for those who don’t see it, and for those who are on the right track, here’s the INTP argument. Spanner has little to no Fi. Why is that? Because he’s an absolute Ti dom. He’s never been someone in touch with his emotions nor the emotions of others, and despite being part of a high class organization while doing what he’s interested in for a living, when it came to meeting Tsuna with his thrilling abilities, he could care less about compromising his position and prepared to do so by playing dead. He’s constantly seen as logical and objective when making his decisions, as he helps the gang simply because he’s interested in the power of the Vongola and fakes his death for the sake of pursuing knowledge where he knows he wouldn't be able to if he had actually caught Tsuna. There’s no morality regarding his decisions, simply the logic that, if working with the gang lets him to continue studying mechanics, then logically it’s the rational decision to make. I’ll move on from the Ti because of how clear it is, but now for the distinction. What makes him an Ne over Se dom? Well for one, he’s barely engaged in the present. Even at that, if he theoretically had an ounce of Se in that brain of his, it would most definitely be underdeveloped. Like c’mon, who makes a parachute backpack when your entire life is sitting in a room all day-? Spanner’s focuses and intellectual pursuits thrives off the possibilities of his work in a Ti-Ne way, perfecting Tsuna’ s X-Burner based on his observations and theories. His Ne can easily be paired with his Si through his constant seeking of expanding on what he’s familiar with (bro really only ever works on improving his freaking Moskas we have like 5 editions now). Even deeper into the Si spiral, he’s well in touch with the patterns of his internal world. For example, he had been able to plan the time between his mission and when he’d approximately get caught, while also exemplifying this through simple things like how his brain performs better with the use of sugar. Combining all his pleasures, he’s even gone as far as to create his own lollipops for efficient mechanic work, and adding Japanese flavored lollipops because he’s been into the culture of Japan (due to their technological advancements). The lollipops in particular weren’t even a simple Se sort of quick indulgence sort of creation, yet instead, was a long term creation that provides him extra nutrients because he’s aware of his physical necessities. Regarding his abilities, he’s very confident of himself in a Ne-Si way. While Tsuna panics, he continues to remain indifferent because he’s well aware of his work time range. Additionally he knows his years of experiences on technological skills (Si) and the possibilities it can develop (Ne). To close off, I’ll lightly touch on his inferior Fe just cause it’s really underdeveloped and he never goes on grip, but he really does have that awkward Fe which blind sights his ability to see discomfort in others, (the entirety of Tsuna’s time with him). It’s still very much present though, and best seen during the short moments he tries to establish a sort of communication/connection (?) with Tsuna through what he knows of Japan, although it was most definitely a (Ti dom+Fe inferior) flop. Still, it was a cute try and I love this guy.
