What personality type is L? L is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - so/sp - 594 in Enneagram, RCUEI in Big 5, LII in Socionics.
i saw some people thinking L is INTJ so i want to explain him being an INTP: “it’s not a sense of justice. figuring out difficult cases is my hobby. if you measured good and evil deeds by current laws, i would be responsible for many crimes. the same way you all like to solve mysteries and riddles, or clear video games more quickly. for me too, it’s simply prolonging something i enjoy doing. that’s why i only take on cases that pique my interest. it’s not justice at all. and if it means being able to clear a case, i don’t play fair, im a dishonest, cheating human being who hates losing.” -> dom Ti: L isn't driven to take down criminals out of a sense of justice, but rather for the sake of the puzzle or the mystery. he can forget about rules and laws if it means he will win. avoids absolutes as much as possible. he makes logical deductions through recognizing the systems and rules through rationality. example: airing the news in japan will indicate his location, all the criminal deaths happen during out-of-school, kira must have had an access to police files because he probably knew about police investigation, which is all through understanding and focusing on systems of logic. he’s shown hesitating a lot, and using qualifying statements like “i think." L’s Ti is shown in the way he hones in on inconsistencies and obsesses over small things that don’t appear to make sense. L is quick to realize that there must be a second kira due to the inconsistencies in the new kira’s behavior. he's shown getting confused when he can tell that both light and misa are telling the truth, yet all the evidence is pointing to their guilt. his Ti is deeply bothered by his inability to make sense of this. L is really analytical and logical. -> aux Ne: it shows in the way that he thinks. L thinks and plots out every different possibility. he judges different scenarios against what he knows and what his logic dictates to make sense. he's shown considering possibilities that are highly unlikely, even if they might sound stupid he still considers them, which is what allows him to realize that light can kill people in a supernatural way. he makes connections between events, such as misa’s relationship with light who L suspected to be kira, how she appeared suddenly. L has a tendency to not state things directly. he explains everything he knows and how he knows it in details. he uses Ne to feed his thinking and make sense out of every situation he has to face. -> ter Si and inf Fe: L doesn’t just recognize that there is an inconsistency (Ti) but he can immediately state exactly what that inconsistency is (Si). L has underdeveloped, inferior Fe as he displays socially inappropriate or strange behavior whilst ignoring social courtesies. he uses Fe to play with light's reactions and emotions (which many people would call manipulating). he confesses that light is the first friend he has ever had.
