What personality type is So/Sx Five? So/Sx Five is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - so/sx - 514 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
This description isn’t my favorite because this instinctual stacking takes a type that in theory is very withdrawn, not interested in the ordinary or ordinary people and then with sx secondary should pick up a few traits of sx5 possibly slightly influencing the type to search for relationships but having standards that are too high for the majority of people. But then this description paints so/sx 5 as an so7. A friendly person that wants to be liked by everyone but withdraws out of insecurity. So/sx shouldn’t have a desire to try to be liked by everyone, it just doesn’t add up with so5. This so7 description might be where the ENTP/INFJ SO5 come from. This is my attempt at describing so/sx and so/sp. So/Sx: Competitive scholar that loves discussing and debating topics with those that meet their high standards to express and share their intellect. More stereotypical image of so5. —Traits picked up from sx5 -More Outwardly Arrogant -More Selective with who’s in their circle -Still so5 but more relational with those in their circle -More intense So/Sp: Hermit who seeks to express and share their intellect from a distance. —Traits picked up from sp5 -More passive, less outwardly arrogant -Not as elitist but far less relational, more distant -More guarded with many boundaries -More detached from emotions I think a main difference is that within their social circles so/sx is more likely to value their individual bonds with a few or just one in the circle. And probably be more engaging, where so/sp is more guarded and less relational. More likely to treat everyone like co-workers and fail to establish any meaningful bonds. Example would be L from Death Note. Within the task force only talks about work related topics. Doesn’t try to bridge the gap between others at all unless it’s useful to the case. So5 is pretty rare so I couldn’t think of any so/sx examples that I know well enough to explain but I’ve heard Beth Harmon could be so/sx5. If there are any better or other examples lmk.
Biography
Social/Sexual Five 'Totem-Trust' When reasonably healthy, people of this subtype can be very engaging (for a Five). They smile a lot and are often friendly. Their energy is quite different from the social/self-pres subtype because both the social and sexual energies push outwards, and so partly balance out some of the withdrawing tendencies of the Five. This doesn’t mean that people of this subtype are necessarily any healthier however. The outgoing energy is not the result of true integration to Eight but is the result of the compulsive pull of the instincts. People of this subtype are usually warm and when feeling secure are likely to let people in and even to initiate contact. When they feel insecure however, they can actually go to the other extreme and be very shy. For this reason, people of this subtype could easily be mistyped; those Fives who withdraw from social contact because of feelings of insecurity, might not seem...
