What personality type is Irvine Welsh? Irvine Welsh is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - - 548 in Enneagram, RCUEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
Reading his interviews made me realise he's very similar to myself, and the reason I always related well to Renton's character in Trainspotting (generally seen as INTP) is that whenever Welsh wrote his parts it was sort of stream of thought writing, he said it was like writing about himself. Also, there was this one part which seemed to indicate Demon Fi; "I'm pretty even-tempered, but when I do lose it, I go a bit nuts, so I don't like to do it. I haven't done it for a long time."
Biography
Irvine Welsh (born 27 September 1958) is a Scottish novelist, playwright and short story writer. His novel Trainspotting was made into a film of the same name. His work is characterised by a raw Scots dialect and brutal depiction of Edinburgh life. He has also written plays and screenplays, and directed several short films.
