honestly, if ryuk were truly an ESTP, he would sate his boredom by doing something himself rather than being content with watching someone else do something. ESTPs thrive on being able to experience the sensory world through THEIR five senses and THEIR actions, rather than by proxy of someone else. a dominant Se user would be averse to living vicariously through someone else because they would want to be the one living out the situation. meanwhile, a dominant Ne user would be fine with sitting on the sidelines if that meant they could entertain themselves with possibilities – or in ryuk’s case, serve as light yagami’s personal peanut gallery. not once did ryuk think, “man, i want to be the one executing criminals!”. he was happy enough to feed light yagami different options and ideas (e.g. the shinigami eyes) to see how far this human kid would go – and all the potential he was capable of.
Biography
Ryuk (Japanese: リューク, Hepburn: Ryūku) is a fictional character in the manga series Death Note, created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. He is a bored Shinigami (a Japanese god of death) that drops a Death Note, a notebook that allows the user to kill anyone simply by knowing their name and face, into the human world in order to have relieve his boredom. The Death Note ends up in the city of Tokyo, where it is picked up by Light Yagami, an intellectually-gifted high school student who uses it in an attempt to create and rule a utopia cleansed of evil, with him at the helm as a "god".
