James Cameron MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is James Cameron? James Cameron is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - so/sx - 853 in Enneagram, SCOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.

When I was first into mbti, James Cameron was one of the first people I typed. He seemed like such an ENTJ in his directness and vision, and gathering physical experience; being a doer. And 8w7 was honestly just a vibe type based on his intensity and high Se usage. I feel like vibes, you’d say ENTJ 8w7. Which gave me no surprise this was the poll result. However, like many intense ENTJ E1s, he’s being mistyped as an E8. He is clearly a perfectionist. When you hear stories from people who worked with him, they are always mentioning his attention to detail and perfectionism. He literally waited years to make the Avatar so it was in his vision. He realized it wasn’t gonna be perfect, so he waited. The same could be said about avatar 2. He waited a decade to make the second one and the following. And more on the recent side, the engineer who built his submersible said he’d argue for hours on the details of the ship. Whether to use titanium or stainless steel, etc… This doesn’t sound like an E8 who would focus on winning and winning. But rather, someone focused on doing it right. His Te, Ni, Se, Fi; I feel don’t need explaining. He is definitely Te Dom. He’s insanely direct in his speech and on the extraverted side. He’s always working on teams, and leading rather than thinking deep about it, I feel like this eliminates INTJ. Not to mention, he’s focused on getting concrete facts for his beliefs. Doing the research and gathering findings that are empirical. His Ni is his insane vision. He maps out things far before they actually materialize. He planned both avatar movies nearly decades before. He also talks about how he can visualize things, on an intuitive level based on his experience. Like how he imaged exactly how the submersible wreck looked like. Also, his avatar movies and titanic are riddled with philosophy and parallels. The entire movie is a parallel to the suffering natives felt when Europeans took their land. This doesn’t make him seem Te-Se. His lower functions are developed tho. His Se is crazy. He’s always doing. He’s constantly getting pleasurable experiences and trying to get an adrenaline rush. This works with his Te. He’s physically going to places to get concrete data, and get new experiences. He has visited the titanic wreckage almost 33 times. His Se makes him seem E8, because it’s so well developed and makes him seem more authoritative and intense. Sometimes his Ni is limited by his Se. He said he couldn’t make the Aqua-man movie because he knows it’s not realistic. He’s been down there and knows something that could never happen, so why bother directing it. Also he is not prone to risks. He’s willing to take out massive amounts of money for films, even tho they could crash and fail. He’s very self confident and willing to live on the edge. His Fi is somewhat developed as well. He has a sense of giving people justice. This is limited by his dominant Te sometimes, because he can be too ruthless and not focused on others. He does feel things on a personal level. He often says it like it is, very direct. But when he talks about things on an emotional level, his points are more Fi than complying to objective ethics. Like with the submersible, he didn’t try to make people happy and do the politically correct thing. He said the facts, but was talking about how he empathizes with the family on a personal level. It seemed authentic and according to what he believes is right. In my opinion, his tritype is 153. His E1 was explained already. His 5 fixed is how he’s obsessed with being knowledgeable about things. Almost every movie he was in, he did hands on research and getting the facts right. He did a ton of work with the titanic, cgi and new methods, etc…. He’s borderline a researcher, and often works with professors\professions to become more educated. He has a massive understanding of chemistry, biology, the sciences in general. He wants to know things. His 3 fix is his desire for success. He constantly wants the best movies. He wants to have the highest in the box office. Etc… That’s why it’s not surprising 3 of the 4 highest grossing movies belong to him, including #1. He also released avatar just so it took back the number one spot. His interviews also give off 3 fix vibes. He tries to be charming and professional, so he is respected within the community. Which is a trait of many white collar workers.
