💖ANN IS A SX9💖 Yet another character that is typed as a 2 simply because they're nice and helpful. Ann is a textbook sexual 9. She merges with the people in her life (usually her romantic partners), subconsciously feeling it's easier to live out the desires of another than stand on her own. This is especially apparent when she starts acting like Chris after only dating him for a few weeks. She also did this with Andy, living for him rather than for herself. Sexual 9s are also among the most resistant to change out of all the enneagram types, if not the most. Getting out of their comfort zone is terrifying to them. They like to be comfortable and secure, and that includes being with the same people doing the same things. This is how their sloth manifests. They lack awareness of their inner self and have little identity outside of their relationships with other people. This is well demonstrated after Ann breaks up with Chris and she makes a concerted effort to find out who she really is by trying all sorts of new things and forcing herself out of her comfort zone. She became aware of her tendency to merge with people and not be awake to her own individuality. I really hope this page reaches a sexual 9 consensus someday because Ann is such an excellent example of one. Not only does she fit the type perfectly, but she's an example of a healthy sexual 9 who realizes her weaknesses and works on self-improvement. When she became aware of how she attaches herself to her significant others and isn't awake to her own individuality, she took it seriously and worked on being her authentic self, rather than living vicariously through other people. That's a really hard thing to do, and she succeeded at becoming more confident and authentically herself. She was then able to have a healthy relationship with Chris because they both were willing to realize their faults and work on themselves.
Biography
Leslie's heterosexual life partner. They first meet in the pilot episode, when Ann attended a town hall meeting to bring an abandoned construction pit to the government's attention. For the first three seasons, Ann was a nurse at the local hospital, making it somewhat baffling that she seemed to spend so much time with the other characters at City Hall. Eventually, she was given a part-time job at City Hall to solve this problem.
