I have changed my vote from ESFP SX8 864➝ ISFP SX4 468. Carol seems like a perpetually discontent person, who in a way, is attached to pain/suffering in a manner that can only align with Type IV. Even before the We, she was chronically devaluing of experiences, herself, others (...) and despite having [what one could argue was] a good and stable life, she was unhappy. Looking at the cup always half empty. Underneath it all, what seems to trouble Carol most is not being seen, recognized or appreciated for who she is (...) in turn, creating Shame. This can be inferred from Episode 4 'Please, Carol', when we learn she was sent to conversion therapy by her mother (...) signaling her core wound: that something that felt inherent to her, namely her sexuality, was judged as wrong. This is the Type IV fear of being defective. Hence, we can understand the resistance she feels with any perceived attempts at being 'changed', or stripped of her individuality and 'what makes her special'. This would all likely be confirmation for her that she is defective, and needs to be something other than she is. Much like the Sexual 4, Carol has a tendency to turn hatred outward, instead of at herself. She is not stoic or controlled, like the SP4, or emphatic and obliging like the SO4 (...) rather loud, destructive and temperamental like the SX4. Additionally, the SX4 is prone to subscribe to ideologies/dogma that mask their own agenda's, in a similar way that Carol is neurotically motivated reverting the We and 'saving humanity', in order to allay other fears. She masks her disdain as moral ("It isn't right"), when perhaps, the We only highlight all the things she is not, making her shame-prone. All in all, Introverted Feeling and Extraverted Sensing were an evidence from the beginning. Type IV > VIII is the newer conclusion. INTJ voters, please, for one second look further than your nose is long.
