What personality type is Darth Maul (Episode I)? Darth Maul (Episode I) is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/sx - 863 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
https://youtu.be/S10GfwVjYok I submit this link as insight to the way Maul functioned and comparing and contrasting him to Palpatine/Sidious (INTJ). Maul attempts to emulate Sidious in the scheming department but falls short due to being more of a short term tactical thinker. His methodology is very Ti-Se-Ni, in a similar vein to Ventress. That’s not of course to say he isn’t well-spoken and intelligent just simply different functions at different spots at play and attempting to use his Child Ni to emulate Palpatine’s dominant Ni. Palpatine had been scheming for many decades up to that point through careful political maneuvering and had a greater understanding and control of the bigger picture and thus also an auxiliary Judging function (Te), though I have seen persuasive arguments for aux-Fe and also being an ENFJ Ni subtype. Maul lacks the administrative function of Te is his shortsightedness and lack of a solid plan and the ability to plan efficiently in a way that an INTJ would be able to do, assuming he would have been able to take down Sidious, which was highly improbable at best. It also mentions that he was adept at emotional manipulation using the cold blooded murder of Duchess Satine to get at Obi Wan. While you don’t necessarily need Fe to be good a emotional manipulation I think it is still a sign of Fe, albeit inferior Fe in Maul’s case. As well as his surprisingly genuine concern for his brother and apprentice Savage in the way an IXTP would care. I simply don’t see Fi, and in particular tertiary Fi harnessed the way IXTJs would utilize it. Maul definitely has Se, not just in his obvious combat abilities but also in his modus operandi of being a more present focused individual, with an unhealthy obsession with the past and no long term plan for the future. In the moment, he understands how to apply pressure to meet his ends. His brief rule as leader of deathwatch was more based on fear of his combat prowess.
