What personality type is Lie Ren? Lie Ren is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sp/so - 954 in Enneagram, RLOEN in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
I think Ren is an ISTJ. He doesn't seem to lead with making internal/external judgements about people/things (like an IP or an EJ), he seems to be go with flo (internally) and waits for other people to take the lead (like Jaune an ENFJ). Unlike Mercury or Qrow (two ISTPs), Ren's doesn't really seem to have an internal framwork of logic, rather he comepares what is happening now to his past (Si) then when needed would take action (Te). Auxilary Te (and dominant Si) can be shown in Ren's pragmatic statements in volume 8 when talking to Yang. Ren's teritary Fi is shown in his strong feelings towards Nora and his lack of interpersonal skills. In volume 4 (like Weiss) we can see his Si-Fi due to him reacting very emotionally because of his past. He also internalized his late father's message of being proactive. Finally Ren's inferior Ne can again be shown throughout volume 8 as he see everything going wrong and wondering what would have happened if they done something differently.
Biography
Ren joins Beacon Academy with his childhood friend, Nora, who becomes his team partner. He's quiet, reserved and prone to bottling his emotions. His weapons are called StormFlower, a pair of green guns with collapsible curved blades under the barrels. His Semblance, "Tranquility", allows him to dampen down emotions, making himself and his targets invisible to the negativity-sensing Grimm.
