"She's not a fighter, she's a doctor. She fights in another way." ― Léa Seydoux "She is a different Bond girl. [...] She doesen't seduce with her body. She has a brain and a job". ― Léa Seydoux "She’s a strong character who is very complex. [...] She’s also very sensitive and, deep down, fragile. She fights with her own emotions and that’s why maybe James has a crush on her.” ― Léa Seydoux Madeleine embodies in many ways a completely new type of a Bond girl. She‘s clever, independent, and yet also heavily traumatized. She catches my eye as someone who - unlike most Bond girls- doesn't immediately fall in love with James Bond because of his good looks, his charm, his combat skills, or his status as an MI6 agent. I think it was due to her family background, her training as a psychiatrist, and her very own nature that enabled her to develop a deep understanding of Bond's true character and to see the grief he had suffered. She fell in love with his human side and developed from that a close relationship and deep bond with him. She also doesn’t strike me as a fighter or someone who is acutely aware of the immediate environment like – let's say Camille („Quantum of Solace“) or Natalya Simonova. She is as Lea Seydoux said herself a doctor who fights in another way. Yin Yang put it best by pointing out that Madeleine is rather someone creative who „comes up with the idea of distracting the guard and seeing the potential in the things around her to use them to her advantage“. - INFP.
