Personality

What personality type is The Tenth Doctor? The Tenth Doctor is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - so/sx - 748 in Enneagram, SLUAI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.

Ten is the poster child for a smart IEE. Most people aren’t doubting Ne base, but the middle axis is more a point of contention. First, he’s Fi-Te valuing over Ti-Fe valuing. He certainly has a lot of Fe. He’s naturally charming and is hardly ever unlikeable at first glance. He doesn’t often rub people wrong or step on anyone’s toes in a significant way, albeit, he CAN be somewhat socially clueless. He is deft with both introverted and extroverted ethics and skilfully applies each in cycle to the situation while valuing the former. Basically a decent example of noticeable Fe Demonstrative with a more humble and flexible Fi Creative. His personal attitudes (Fi) and need to be competent (Te) are much more values-prevalent than his expressivity (Fe), and there isn’t much structure (Ti) in his approach or thinking. He reluctantly resigns himself to fixed points and to the laws of time, but this is so painful that he eventually almost loses it trying to play God in ignoring them. Once shaken up by… Adelaide, he recognises that these laws are in place for a reason, and that they truly may have significant personal and causal consequences. Consequences he can’t ignore. Second, Ten embodies Delta NF values. Particularly, in how that influences the treatment of his enemies. He is compassionate to even the cruelest of his foes (like Caan, a Dalek, a species his predecessor, Nine [LSI], categorically had no pity or sympathy for under most circumstances). He believes in giving people chances and a choice. Another example would be his final decision against the Sontarans, whom he just HAD to give a choice to. The Tenth Doctor is ruled by his willingness not only to see possibilities (Ne) in everything, but to pay attention to the (doubly) subjective potential in people for goodness (Ne-Fi blocked + valued + strong). ILE doesn’t make as much sense for Ten and is much more appropriate for his successor, Eleven.

Biography

The scruffy, witty, and somewhat Mulder-ish heartthrob, with great inner fury and wistful melancholy concealed under his easygoing attitude. An accidental and often reluctant chick magnet, the Tenth Doctor started out rather manic: prone to speaking very quickly, peppering his speech with pop culture references and foreign words, and going off on long rambling tangents.
