What personality type is Mariah Carey? Mariah Carey is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - sx/so - 369 in Enneagram, SLOAN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
Giving an honest personality analysis here I don’t see enough dominant Fe in Mariah to type her as an ESFJ. I feel like people on this website are averse to typing any person they like as an ESTJ. This is a pretty harmful mindset to actual healthy ESTJs. Te dom > Fe dom: The Fe dom in Mariah just isn’t strong enough to type her as so. She’s not very interested in people-pleasing or buttering up to others. She seems to care more so about being diligent and perfecting her craft. She comes across as efficient and practical. There are several interviews where she admits being a workaholic spending hours rehearsing until things are perfect. Compare her to taylor swift, who’s also typed as ESFJ 3w2. Taylor’s Fe dom is obvious. Yes she’s ambitious (thus the 3 ennea) but she’s also much more of a people pleaser and you can clearly tell how much she prioritizes external validation over someone like Mariah. On the other hand it’s pretty clear who Mariah likes and doesn’t like from her body language alone. I honestly see Mariah as being more of an ISFP than ESFJ, ESFJ just doesn’t seem to fit her to me. If you’re typing her as ESFJ because you see the functions in her that’s valid but if you’re typing her as ESFJ just because you like her and refuse to believe she’s an ESTJ then that’s not really a strong argument. Then again celebrities are hard to type because no one really knows them, and her “diva” persona is largely concocted, with even Mariah herself poking fun at it. Edit: I know this typing might be controversial since her MBTI is highly debated. I’ve seen some good arguments for her being ESFJ on this website, so i’m not trying to make these people look bad, but i’m also trying to say someone shouldn’t get typed as ESFJ just because they’re agreeable and being ESTJ equals being icy bitch. Any MBTI is bad when they’re unhealthy, people just love to hate ESTJs for some reason on this website. This is my own personal assessment based on how I see her conduct herself. Not an absolute typing, just observations (: edit 2: Looking at some of her statements i’m reconsidering ESFJ, she def seems more empathetic compared to a lot of ESTJs even if she comes across as more blunt than an ESFJ. She seems to have qualities of both, overall she’s really hard to type.
