Personality

What personality type is Musashi Miyamoto? Musashi Miyamoto is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/so - 853 in Enneagram, in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.

His desire for fame is more "infantile" (inferior Fe) as opposed to "childlike" (tertiary Fe), I would argue. You see Musashi talk about his motivations in episode 12 of Baki-Dou The Invincible Samurai (Part 1). I also think he's ISTP because of how he conducts himself in interactions. He's not as boisterous as the other Se Doms in Baki, he's more lowkey, and his emotional reactions are a bit less exaggerated than the rest of the cast. When you look at Musashi's personality and demeanour, relative to the rest of the Baki cast, he stands out as notably more restrained in emotional expression. This fits ISTP better than ESTP. Musashi loves his "imaginary cuts" and mental cuts, which could point towards tertiary Ni as opposed to inferior Ni. Baki also likes imagination training. Baki and Musashi both use image training to "make their body liquid" and attack quickly. Contrast this with Yujiro, the Se dom who says all image training is stupid. NOTE (can skip reading this): I used the words "infantile" and "childlike" to differentiate the qualities of inferior and tertiary functions from one another, although this may not be the most accurate terminology. What I'm trying to say is that relatively speaking, the inferior function is even less sophisticated than the tertiary function. And I think the sophistication of Musashi's Fe seems more in line with an inferior function and a tertiary function.
