Jean MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Jean? Jean is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - sp/so - 162 in Enneagram, RCOAN in Big 5, LSE in Socionics.
so/sp votes are rising and I'm assuming it's because people see her tendency to overwork herself as proof that she's not sp-first, but instinctual variants are NOT separate from enneagram and are in fact they are inherently part of it, so you can't type her IVs without taking her core type into account. The sp1 is the most disconnected from their anger and strive to be good, perfect, heroic and virtuous because of their own personal standards for perfection. Anger is typically seen as "bad", so they tend to fully repress it in favour of presenting themselves as supportive, kind, benevolent etc. which also manifests in how Jean is always more attentive to others instead of herself. They're the ones that need to have everything under control and therefore find it difficult to simply go with the flow due to the fact that they're constantly worried that something might go wrong. They are the most obsessive 1 subtype, characterised by their constant worrying and self expectations. Jean overworks herself because of the obsessive need to aim for perfectionism and to fulfil her duties to keep Mondstadt stable. She thinks she's not doing her job well as a Knight if she doesn't do everything perfectly and feels like she's inadequate - she sacrifices everything about herself for the sake of duty and righteousness, and does what she "must" rather than what she wants. It's *because* she's such a textbook sp1 that she ends up overworking herself for the sake of other people... sp1s are extremely likely to forget themselves for others because of their high standards for goodness and perfection, not being their own priority does not make them an so1. As for so1s, they're relatively less perfectionistic and are the ones who lead by being a role model. They sort of teach others by acting as examples of what goodness is. While the people around Jean do follow in her footsteps and admire her, this isn't her fundamental nature - people just look up to her because she pushes herself to be perfect (and others recognise this), but she doesn't expect others to act the same as her, nor is she intentionally trying to make that happen. so1s are usually rigid in the belief that the social tradition they follow is the correct one and as such can be quite self-righteous since it isn't the individual who is of utmost correctness, but rather the belief that is. Jean... is not that. She can be quite rigid, sure, but she's not the type who expects people to follow tradition as she does, she only imposes this onto her own conscious. She HERSELF, as a person, must be perfect and good, not the belief. This concern with her own righteousness and dutifulness, along with how she worries about being personally wrong is what makes her sp1 to the very core. sp1s are self-focused not in the sense that they are attentive to their health (like generic sp definitions tend to bring up), but in the sense that they are attentive to their own personal responsibility and morality so they hold themselves to insanely high standards - so yes, they're prone to overworking themselves despite being sp1.
