What personality type is Hendrick Joliet Easterman? Hendrick Joliet Easterman is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - SO2 - 268 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
IMO Easterman is a clear example of E2, not E8. Both types are known for their strong egos and assertiveness, but a key difference lies in how they respond to rejection. Unhealthy 8's are more likely to respond directly with anger and force. They have no problem voicing their disdain for something/someone and can even resort to insults, threats and intimidation to get what they want. If they can't convince you to agree with them, they might push you away to retain a sense of control and to keep up their tough exterior. This ties into their core fear of being controlled by others and their general aversion towards authority. 2's can also respond aggressively obviously, but they tend to do it more covertly under the guise of love. They need to feel important to those around them or else they see themselves as failures undeserving of love. Because of this, unhealthy 2's are more likely to resort to guilt tripping as a form of manipulation, insisting that they always know what's best for everyone in hopes of getting people to listen to them. They often take rejection personally, thinking it's a sign of ungratefulness and not being appreciated enough. The latter is Easterman to a T, as seen in many of his evidence files and voice lines: "You want to hurt me. You want to abandon me. Do you think you can make me love you more? Nobody loves anybody more than I love you. If you don't know that by now, maybe you deserve to go get hurt by that bitch." "How am I supposed to trust you now? How do I trust anyone? Do you know what I've sacrificed for my work? My wife is gone. My family is gone. I gave everything for you. Why would you run away from me?" 2's move towards 8 in stress which can make them appear similar in some regards, but I personally don't think he's an 8. I'm new-ish to enneagram though, so I would love to hear counter-arguments.
