let's put it simple: ENTJ in the books, INTJ in the show if you haven't read six of crows, show kaz *might* look like an ENTJ but really once you compare him to book kaz, you can see that his fi plays a much bigger role in the adaptation, whereas in the book it's his se that stands out i can't stress this enough but if you read the books you know kaz looks like someone who has little to no morals and has a hard time when it comes to anything which requires him to open up even in the slightest. show kaz is simply much more softer, which makes me think he can't have inf fi "i protect my investments" vs "no saint ever watched over me, not like you have" COME. ON. i want him to act like he feels nothing towards anyone until he falls head over heels for inej and is unable to handle it bc he's been trying to deny it the whole time and it's that much climactic bc his inf fi doesn't understand her dom fi and they complement each other so well that was a really long rant but i had to express my love for kanej's dynamic now this is why i have a problem with the show turning my all time favourite ENTJ in an INTJ (and this comes from a fellow INTJ, which is saying something). his inf fi is what drives his character arc forward in the book while in the show he seems a bit more in touch with his emotions. this is not to say that ENTJ can't have emotions or anything bc the main arc point for kaz in crooked kingdom is him having to come to terms with his emotions and his feelings for inej, it's just that show kaz sort of misses that detached, almost ruthless way of handling things which was so specific for his character in the first place this is really one of the main aspects that makes kaz brekker stand out from other characters. he's greedy, he seems to have no moral compass and his cruelty can go to insane extents, yet you can't help but root for him. everything works in an paradoxical sort of way, but it works all the same. i have a hard time explaining as to why, you either get it or you don't honestly though, one of the biggest let downs of the show is how they handled kaz. not that it's bad, it certainly isn't, he simply doesn't have that *something* that made him such a memorable character in the first place. i get that you can't have him walking around ripping out eyeballs in the first scene he's in like he did in the book if you don't give him a little bit of context, but i still wish they kept more of his pitilessness. book kaz is scary, you love him but you're scared of him and by comparison, show kaz falls flat i might change my opinion once season 2 comes out bc they have plenty of time to develop his character (esp bc we haven't seen any backstory yet). i might seem too harsh on show kaz and that's not my intention at all, i was scared s&b would ruin six of crows but they actually did an excellent job with this adaptation and i really want to see what they'll do next. just stick to kaz's personality from the book and we should be fine, more calculated plans, less uwu inej pls love me okok one last point bc i haven't mentioned this, but his se in the show is basically not there (INTJ's inf function) and while in the book it might look like he doesn't use se either, that one fight scene towards the end of crooked kingdom agh so fucking good you wouldn't expect him to do so well in a physical faceoff yet he does and i think that scene alone nicely places se 3rd in his stack now what does all of this have to do with his mbti type? tbh not much, it's more of a show vs book thing, i first wanted to leave a one sentence comment but then it turned into this. oh well really, it all comes down to where his fi and se are placed in his function stack and in this long and unnecessary rant i made it clear that i think his fi is much stronger in the show than it is in the book show kaz is an INTJ, welcome to the club ily
Biography
Kaz Brekker (Portrayed by #FreddyCarter) is the de facto leader of the Dregs, also known as the Crows, one of Ketterdam's street gangs, and one of the most ambitious thanks to Kaz being a criminal mastermind and bolder than the rest. Kaz is only a teenager, but his legend has grown in Ketterdam's back alleys and nighttime shadows. Kaz is known for being willing to do any job, no matter how violent or dangerous, without showing an ounce of fear, thus earning him the nickname Dirtyhands.
