While I understand the whole "impulsive dumbass so Se Dom" argument, Dodgers's head is clearly always in another dimension. Cadet serves as his counterbalance and the dude that grounds him in every situation. ESTPs are more than capable of handling situations that require immediate reactionary thinking. ENTPs, while more flexible thinkers, are prone to getting blindsided by sudden changes in the tangible environment which is usually why they're stereotyped by many people as being incapable fighters. It's been a running joke in the show for the longest time that Dodgers always found himself in situations where the odds are unbelievably stacked against him, and while he was witty enough to get past these situations at times, he almost always needed to have a unique circumstance happening in his favor to achieve victory. He's a daredevil only in his mind when in reality, he's just extremely lucky.

Biography

The titular "hero" of the series, Dodgers is a captain in the protectorate who was revived by I.Q. Hi after being frozen for four and a half centuries. Despite I.Q.'s hopes for Dodgers to be a useful asset, he's at best a wild card for the protectorate; Generally Dodgers is HIGHLY incompetent, unprofessional, self absorbed, and amoral but he does have the occasional moment of genuine competence. Occasional being the key word.
