What personality type is Dog Man? Dog Man is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - so/sx - 729 in Enneagram, SCUAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
I understand that with the release of the new Big Jim arc (books 13 and 14), the series seems to be getting a bit more Ne-focused. Big Jim and Grampa surely seem to have the ENFP/ISTJ dynamic, but that's a different story. My point is, just because Dog Man is excitable or imaginative, doesn't make him a Ne dom. One of the biggest differences between Ne and Se has been sensory vs. imaginative- and Dog Man has always fallen into the category of the former. Ever notice how it's always Lil' Petey or 80-HD coming up with the creative ideas (ex. the Supa Buddies themselves)? Even in the more recent books, Big Jim is always giving the Ne-based lesson of the day. Dog Man, on the other hand, gets distracted by sensory objects- squirrels, Mayor's roses, and in Big Jim Begins, while Big Jim is battling the Space Cuties, frosting. Even when Grampa yells at him for it, he simply gets distracted by the frosting again. Se over Ne. End of story.
