Took a very long time debating whether Sledge was an ISTJ or ISFJ--ultimately, for me, it boils down to his lack of hesitation on calling out other people's behavior (Sid with the crab, the one guy carving out the teeth of that living Japanese soldier, his fellow Americans with the teenager, and that's just off the top of my head) and maintaining the group "harmony"...like, he just HAS to let people know what he thinks is wrong. VERY Fi. Think the most pressing example of this is when Peck got Hamm killed and he lost it, with Snafu having to take over for him (surprisingly imo LOL). Someone with auxiliary Fe would NOT act like this, I don't think, even in the grip of war. Thus: ISTJ.
