Aw I had the biggest crush on him as a teenager. (⸝⸝> ω <⸝⸝) Anyways, I debated between ISTJ and INFP for a while, and he’s definitely an unhealthy INFP. That Ne idealism and Fi-Si loop was very prominent. Why Inferior Te: Eugene is very sloppy with his Te; while he can wield it, it comes off as clumsy and unnatural. He prefers to follow more than lead. His steadfast values > logical consistency can also make him come across as a hypocrite. I also think he’s a social one with a sexual blind spot. “Social Ones express their social awkwardness and insecurity in stiffness. They have rigid ideas about how both they and others should behave socially, and their passion of anger arises when these ideas are not conformed to. Rather than going with the flow of what is happening in a social gathering, they try to impose what they think should be happening” (Maitri). I think this fits Eugene rather well since he often does what he believes is morally right regardless of what others think. He’s quick to anger/obstinance when his ideals are stepped on, and immediately speaks up even when it is not always appropriate to do so. This can be seen when he openly dismisses his father’s advice, and joins the war effort because he believes it is his moral responsibility to serve his country. Or when he angrily reprimands his fellow soldiers on Okinawa for killing a young Japanese boy. Both instances show his need to fight for what he believes is right, regardless of the consequences.
