[1/3] - 1st: CLASSIC JUNG/MBTI/SOCIONICS: IT (S) ISTP LSI. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS Let's start with some basics, why I disagree with XSTJ votes. Even tho I don't think ESXP 8 is that bad, is just some core definitions simply don't fit in. But XSTJ is a really big NO for this character and I'll try my best to explain why. Why I don't think any extraverted function works on him: Extraverted Thinking (Te) in resume is an objective, concrete yet rational function all based on EXTERNAL data, sources, objective facts: "By definition, this will be someone who assumes that he is a pure type who strives to place all his life activity in dependence on intellectual conclusions which are guided, in the last analysis, always by objective data, be they objective facts or valid ideas in general." What I mean is basically: Teth-Adam CONSTANTLY ignores the external object, he did that with his son even though the entire situation was screaming at him that his thoughts were wrong. He did that with the main group, even after they explained morally, logically and ethically that the people needed him and he was the only able to save Kahndaq. He is not only socially introverted but cognitively too. Being stubborn is a characteristic that is very present in subjective logic (Ti), precisely because it ignores the external object, as any introverted function does, but what makes Ti more present is that as Ti is a thinking function, it will know explain to itself why such stubbornness is coherent. And that's what Adam does, here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5fk8Yx7toU&ab_channel=TrailerSpot , the group couldn't realize his subjetive intentions of the way he questioned the bandits until he explained in the most convenient way possible, he wouldn't do that if he hadn't been questioned by his methods. Here some quotes to prove my point: "His judgment appears cold, obstinate, arbitrary, and inconsiderate, simply because he is related less to the object than the subject one can feel nothing in it that might possibly confer a higher value upon the object, it always seems to go beyond the object, leaving behind it a flavbur of a certain subjective superiority." "In the pursuit of his ideas he is generally stubborn, head-strong, and quite unamenable to influence." "However clear to himself the inner structure of his thoughts may be, he is not in the least clear where and how they link up with the world of reality. Only with difficulty can he persuade himself to admit that what is clear to him may not be equally clear to everyone." Talking about MBTI his inferior Fe is VERY obvious for me in general, unfriendly, harsh, austere, not collaborative and the main point is to ignore/goes against external values. "To people who judge him from afar he appears prickly, inaccessible, haughty ; frequently he may even seem soured as a result of his anti-social prejudices." "His struggle against the influences emanating from the unconscious increases with his external isolation, until gradually this begins to cripple him." "With the intensification of his type, his convictions become all the more rigid and unbending. Foreign influences are eliminated he becomes more unsympathetic to his peripheral world, and therefore more dependent upon his intimates." This basically explain the way he started to get passive and highly cooperative at the middle-end of the movie, he was only able to do that when he trusted the group, mainly the boy, when he finally subjectively accepted what he needed to do. The entire film was a stereotype of the Ti's rigid and inflexible logic, the argumentative juggling, the attempt at isolation, everything throws him into an unhealthy IT(S) until his growth. Also to complete with the socionics he is an LSI steriotype: "Function #1 – subjective logic (Ti): my understanding, my worldview, and my school. LSI motto is: “I understand the world, therefore I exist”. It is impossible to make them change their mind. The world is the way I understand it. Their understanding is very conservative, crystallized. When attacked in the area of the first function, a LSI becomes aggressive." Adam on the entire movie, being a violent hard headed. "Function #2 – objective sensing (Se): the zone of risk; the risk might as well be purely physical. Get in his car and you will immediately feel the danger: He drives like a maniac sweeping by just within an inch from the other cars on the road – otherwise it is 'not interesting' enough. LSI likes to perform and be watched. As a rule, they are excellent drivers, they crave risk, and thus they get a taste of life." His show-off on the battle scenes basically, almost destroying the town.
