[1/5] Kyouko Hori MBTI Argument This page is really bad, and has quite literally been filled with stereotypes and misunderstandings on what the functions are and what they represent. The arguments for ESTJ that I’ve seen state that because she’s organized, takes care of Souta, gets good grades, something that any functional human being is capable of, she must be a Te dom which is an extremely flawed explanation. Why? Because being organized, getting good grades, taking care of people are things anyone with hands, a working brain, is a properly functional normal human being and is alive is capable of and has absolutely nothing to do with the functions or types themselves, and is an incredibly superficial and shallow understanding of Hori’s character and typology as a whole, as they use this as a clutch to avoid explaining what MBTI Te is from actual books and how it somehow fits her character. It’s ironic how much people I see act like they’re different from those who type by 16p dichotomies only for them to fail to realize basic facts about the typology they’re speaking of later on, and resorting to baseless stereotypes to confirm their argument after that. So in here, I’ll explain why Kyouko Hori is most definitely not an ESTJ and why she’s definitely an ESFJ, and in a separate thread I’ll explain why E3 is also bad for her as I’ve seen numerous E3 voters as a result of the ESTJ consensus, and then briefly explain E2, specifically the SX2 along with that. To start off, the main deciding difference between an ESTJ and ESFJ in MBTI is that the former (ESTJ) is an extroverted thinking dominant, with the latter (ESFJ) being an extroverted feeling dominant, with the dominant in general being the one the type will be entirely guided by, with the auxiliary being used for nothing more than to support the dominant. After that, figuring out between ESTJ and ESFJ for Hori becomes a matter of figuring out whether she fits either extroverted thinking more or extroverted feeling more. So to understand how bad ESTJ and Extroverted Thinking is for Hori, we must first understand what Te actually is in MBTI according to Myers-Briggs’ who is the very creator of the MBTI system. Looking over at the profile of the Extroverted Thinking type in MBTI, she clearly defines it as thinking that is entirely based and founded on objective data, along with facts and borrowed ideas, established rules and laws from the world around itself, regarding this as an objective, world-law, formula that all life must live according to, being an extremely strict and self-controlled type. Anything that contradicts said formula is wrong, anything neutral is accidental. Due to this, it puts the most importance and dependence on the facts of experience and will regard the subjective, abstract idea as unimportant and negligent, completely ignoring it. The Extroverted Thinking type completely relies on facts outside of the thinker at decisive points for soundness and value, with the goal of solution of practical problems, discovery and classification of facts, criticism and modification of generally accepted ideas, planning of programs, developing of formulas, as the Extroverted Thinking type will completely dwell upon the full details of the concrete, objective situation, including irrelevancies and taking into account everything it needs. Due to this, it has a tendency to multiply facts until the meaning of said facts is smothered and thinking is paralyzed. The Extroverted Thinker consists of a succession of concrete representations that are set in motion not so much by an inner thinking activity, but by changing streams of sense perceptions. Looking over at this, it’s extremely clear that Hori is an extremely bad fit for pretty much all of it. There is no way someone can read this, which if you’re wondering is directly cited from the official MBTI description of the Extroverted Thinking type by the creator of MBTI word for word, and then ever be able to apply it to Hori without being completely delusional, because Hori ever being Te dominant is, simply put, is atrocious and is baseless. Everything I’ve mentioned should pretty much kill the idea. A lot of the function descriptions you’ll see online whether it’s from Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and more almost always tend to be extremely stereotypical and spread blatant misinformation on the types, so I’m not surprised that the ESTJ consensus is here, however everything I’ve mentioned and will mention are directly cited from official MBTI books by the creator of MBTI herself, along with Jung who created the very basis of what MBTI tries to replicate, direct quotes and sources from the creators of the typology which means everything I’m saying is the truth and is far more reliable than some random Instagram or Tumblr post with absolutely no basis in or sources regarding the Typology we’re supposed to be using.
