From early on, he learnt the pattern that fire is harmful through burning his finger. His understanding of this pattern strengthens when Stromboli threatens him when he grows older, he cannot become an actor anymore and he'll use him as firewood. He later used this pattern that "fire is harmful" to turn it against his enemy, Monstro. Which isn't the most practical solution, which strengthens the fact that it's a Ne dominant solution. Ne users also often have their heads above the clouds. He's really oriented to his goal of becoming a real boy. Through the temptation he goes through, if he had more grounded thinking, he would probably accept the fact he won't, just like how Lampwick (a Se dominant) convinces him to stop caring too much about that goal because of his thoughts towards Jiminy that he is too controlling, and it's really impractical for Pinocchio ꒰ ❤️ ꒱ Fi Same as his Ne dominance. I couldn't really see this cognitive function of his until the Monstro scene. If he was a Fe, he would solve problems using other people's (Jiminy's) values to maintain social harmony. Yet, he chooses to save Geppetto in his own way due to his value of becoming a real boy with his own effort. We could also explain his Fi auxiliary by comparing it to his live action counterpart. Live action Pinocchio follows Foulfellow and Gideon because he wants to maintain social harmony with them, animated Pinocchio follows Foulfellow and Gideon because they managed to plant their values in him ꒰ 🩵 ꒱ CONCLUSION: Pinocchio is still a growing child, he's technically a newborn baby. That's why I think the escape from Monstro scene is a really important scene to determine his MBTI type, because by that point, he already knows his personal values that came from himself, not by the guidance of Jiminy, not by the manipulation of Foulfellow, and not by his interactions with an older kid, Lampwick

Pinocchio is the titular protagonist of Disney's 1940 animated feature film of the same name. He is a wooden puppet created by the kindly woodcarver Geppetto.
