The cooler grandpa. He sh*tted on both the brats and Wonka, yet was the only one in the family who actually encouraged Charlie to use the ticket for his own sake instead of selling it while grandpa Joe only care about visiting the factory himself and quickly back down sheepishly. "There's plenty of money out there. They print more every day. But this ticket, there's only five of them in the whole world, and that's all there's ever going to be. Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money."
Biographie
Grandpa George is cynical, down-to-earth and less openly affectionate, only in a more subdued way (when Charlie shares his birthday chocolate with the family, everyone thanks him and Grandpa George merely gives him a nod of approval and a rare smile). But that doesn't mean he doesn't care: when Charlie decides they should sell his ticket for money, Joe is visibly broken but resignates to his decision, and then George reminds him that there will never be a chance like that again, and then asks if he's a "dummy", showing that beneath his grumpy, cyinical attitude, he does care for his grandson's wishes and happiness.
