Biography
Grandpa George is cynical, down-to-earth and less openly affectionate, only in a more subdued way (when Charlie shares his birthday chocolate with the family, everyone thanks him and Grandpa George merely gives him a nod of approval and a rare smile). But that doesn't mean he doesn't care: when Charlie decides they should sell his ticket for money, Joe is visibly broken but resignates to his decision, and then George reminds him that there will never be a chance like that again, and then asks if he's a "dummy", showing that beneath his grumpy, cyinical attitude, he does care for his grandson's wishes and happiness.
