Kepribadian

"Jenis kepribadian apa itu Toji Fushiguro? Toji Fushiguro adalah tipe kepribadian ESTP di mbti, 8w7 - sp/sx - 873 di enneagram, RCUEN dalam Big 5, SLE dalam socionics."

A strikingly obvious pattern on this site is typing SP8s as introverted (most notably ISTP) due to their proximity to indolence, which does often align with ISTP. However, a lack of explosiveness in a character, or their ability to remain cool-headed is not indicative of their being a thinking dominant type. The following comment will focus mostly on explaining why Toji is extraverted and sensing dominant over thinking, and why tertiary/inferior-centric arguments are misleading. All definitions are from Jung's Psychological Types and Myers' Gifts Differing for simplicity's sake. Though Myers has surely treated the E/I dichotomy as some rpg-like set of traits, the baseline remains that extraverted types conform to the object, while introverts withdraw from it. But one could then ask, "isn't the auxiliary function nearly equal in strength to the dominant? Being great at perceiving his surroundings just makes him Se aux!", and this would be a valid question since Myers herself claimed that an introvert's dominant function being stubbornly introverted, it is the auxiliary that is exhibited for others to see. However to this I answer: unfortunately that is not how this process works. Part of what makes jungian dichotomies (applicable to MBTI too before someone points this out; just easier to use Jung to demonstrate this) so interesting is that the priorization of one inherently implies the repression of the other. An extravert naturally represses its compensatory introversion, as a sensor would repress intuition, a feeler thinking, etc. An introvert, especially a rational one (because introverted thinking is rational) would, therefore, not let its sensing auxiliary take priority over the tendency to withdraw from the objective reality. Hair-trigger, impulsive reactions, which very clearly stem from a complete trust in his perception of the environment and desire to impact it directly do not align very well with an Introverted type; extraversion looks at concrete experience, and spits it back out at reality, modifying the object, whereas introversion is a process that stems from the subject and circles back to itself. Briefly put, Toji, when subjected to the reality of his situation, conforms to it and seeks to impact it with complete strength, letting his raw perception of the reality take precedence over any reasoning or introverted judgement. ISTPs as an introverted type, will withdraw from the object; their subjective judgement will always take precedence over the concrete reality. Myers even describes IxTP as an impersonal, critical type, one that analyzes the world but has no desire to impact it (paraphrased for emphasis; "Introverted thinkers use their thinking to analyze the world, not to run it", p. 88 Gifts Differing). Even ISTP arguments on this page will mention Toji's desire to destroy/make an impact on the jujutsu world, and the way he goes about it is very clearly an extravert's path, basically pointing to the strongest guy and showing that even a self-proclaimed monkey can dominate him. Compare this to a character with similar end goals like Geto, an introvert and thinking dominant (despite being INTJ in MBTI due to Myers' incompetence): where Geto withdraws from the society and structure that he finds to be wrong and oppressive, in order to analyze and reconstruct his moral principles, Toji, having suffered personally injustice at the hands of the jujutsu society, moves against the system in power without previously establishing a set of principles or reasoning that might justify his actions. Now, I did go through most top comments on this page to check why ISTP is the accepted consensus for Toji, and they all seem to rely on inferior/tertiary functions, namely the fact that surely Toji's Fe cant possibly be stronger than his Ni. This can partially be attributed to a depiction of Ni as some tool of prediction (when in reality this aspect is just a result of Ni's focus on maintaining internal integrity by filling in gaps between events), but mostly due to an overestimation of the tertiary's so-called "strength". This combination of the characterization of Ni as simply prediction, and not the search for inner knowledge and principles (which we see Toji repressing quite consistently through err... brute force mostly), and the misunderstanding of the tertiary function's position as unconscious and repressed has culminated in an influx of arguments centered on tert/inf. Yes, he rejects objective social norms, in the same way that he rejects inner desire for soulfulness (eg; his naming his son 'Blessing' and repressing both this conscious decision and the meaning he attributed to Megumi)... but the question is, which function does he utilize consciously to compensate for these unconscious ulcers? Correct; Extraverted Sensing.
