okay, now lemme explain why ISTP 8w7 and not ESTP. uh,, prelude: first off i also considered him as “a stereotypical ESTP” and even thought he’s just really unhealthy one. that what we see on the surface. then i read some other analysis which was pretty reasonable and i wanted to research a lil bit more about it myself so subsequently came to conclusion that he’s ISTP. the body: but what’s the problem, why people take him for ESTP? Plethora of Se and cocky platitudinal chad behavior. but some of you guys don’t heed enneagram type. those who type him as ESTP do not consider enneagram or instincts (not to mention cognitive functions). with 8 core ISTP is often getting mistyped for ESTP. Touji is not overt nor impulsive despite he may appear as one (especially in his 2nd fight with Gojo but that’s another discussion). he often sport haughty expression and sold his son for money and nonetheless it’s all concocted for self reassurance. he’s telling himself that he doesn’t care anymore, so he chose to act like an аsshole. okay, now to the description of ISTP 8w7: ISTP 8w7 shares traits of both ISTP and 8w7 personality. ① These people dislike being ruled by an authority figure. ② They value their independence and prefer to work alone without any constraining rules and schedules. ③ They are self-sufficient personalities who do not depend on others too much nor do they open up to others if they need help. ④ They love solving complex problems using their knowledge and skills. Type 8w7 has basic traits of type 8 and secondary traits of type 7. They are aggressive, assertive, strive for power & autonomy, straightforward, realistic, and of extroverted personality. Their behavior, nature, and manner of presentation are consistent across situations and people. They are honest, vocal, and action-oriented. so if you replace ISTP 8w7 with just ESTP, you perhaps won’t notice many changes. but it’s important to look at how he prefer his function to work. * Ti-Se operating perfectly great in him and it differs from Se-Ti preformation: in 𝗦𝗲-𝗧𝗶 , Ti is serving Se, it primarily seeks knowledge as a “tool” that can be wielded to solve problems. But bc Se is the ruling function, ESTPs are mostly the “do first, think later” types. They have a hard time not moving to action right away. another thing is 𝗧𝗶-𝗦𝗲: having Se means they can bypass Ti and take physical action when it’s clear and needed in the moment. dom Ti ceases Se’s impulsiveness. we see it in touji’s actions when he’s not only considering the present situation but the ramifications of it (selling megumi bc he might have the better future than he did, strategizing prior his fight w Gojo) * Tertiary Ni because he relies on his instincts most of the time and can create a great persona (he’s a pro at freeloading off women:) * aaand inferior Fe cuz he don’t give a flying fuсk of what others think of him or his social status when he’s being a bum or lefting the clan. he doesn’t regret it in the slightest. also he’s passably reserved unto emotions, flamboyant feelings and people in general. that’s it. long ass analysis because im simping for him so hard and actually want people to understand him and his character properly. i’ll write about his instincts and tritype later - cheers ♡
