I was conflicted between 8 and 3, but I think the 8 consensus is right. His motivation is mainly that he wants the prestige in order to gain power, because he wants to fight for the people he loves. He has a very "us against the world" mindset that fits an unhealthy so 8 more than a so 3. I think it's clear though that all his ambitions and charisma is all a ploy to gain more power because he wants to keep people under his protection. What's especially telling is that he considers himself inhuman and recognizes his flaws, but deems them necessary. He thinks he must be heartless in order to protect others. A social 3, or any 3 really, would probably have a harder time admitting those glaring flaws and seeing them as good.
