The speech made by Sammy Perlman (aka. Elio's father) is powerful, but I feel that Annella is underappreciated in the film. She also played a very important part of the film. She was the one who told Elio that Oliver likes him. "Perhaps more than you do". She is the one that suggested that Elio should go on the trip with Oliver to Bergamo to spend their last days together before Oliver leaves. After she picked Elio up from the train station, she gave him a pat when Elio was crying like hell in the car. I praise both parents for being so understanding for Elio, especially when he was going through hell at the end of the movie. Side note: You know Ni-dom is there when both parents figured out about Elio and Oliver's relationship without any research. They just know. Gut feelings.
