❆ I think Wyll is pretty much a Beta NF (EIE-H, never thought i'd see one). I mean, is there a reason he's voted ISFJ EII, if not because people don't know the character well enough and think he's just a normal, mundane goody-two-shoes, which is also what they think of these two types? Provided; Wyll is the closest companion to actually be able to be described as "normal" and "healthy" between literally all of them (save Halsin who's the chaddest of the chads). Wyll, however, is in no way a Delta type, much less Se PoLR. He does not have the open-mindedness you'd expect from this type. Wyll is a highly active and volitional individual, with - as mentioned by the user below - a very black/white sense of morality. If you compare him to Karlach (SEE SO8), whom shows Approval when you make morally good/ethical decisions regarldess of the "type" of individual that is a target of it, Wyll actually disapproves when you show a softer hand towards any race that is considered traditionally evil (eg; Goblins). He doesn't judge things based on an individual's character and traits like high Socio Fi users; he judges based on one's race and deeds, and sees things in a relatively linear fashion (which I think connects to his actual Enneatype, which i'll talk a little about later). Although he does have that black/white sense of morality, he does not let his own thoughts about his foes cloud his judgement - seeing as how he gave up his soul in a pact of servitude for Mizora and makes it clear that "he would do it again" if he had the choice; because, for him, introverted judgment isn't a priority, he just wants to do the "right" thing for others no matter the cost, even if it means compromising his own sense of right/wrong (Fe>Fi in both systems). As for EIE specifically; Wyll is a romantic and expressive person at heart. I saw someone mention that Wyll isn't involved with other's emotions enough to be Fe dom, and I wonder... Have you guys heard his banter? Half of it is being flirtatious to both Lae'zel and Shadowheart, asking the former if she believes in "love at first sight", and trying to elicit a reaction from her... Only to later try the exact same with the latter, just to get rebuked with "bro, I was right here when you tried that pickup line with Lae'zel???". For the good and bad, he *IS* involved with other's emotions, reactions and whatnots, though I do think he's a really good and romantic man at heart. When you romance him, for once, he doesn't want to sleep with you straight up, because he says it must be "special". He wants to dance with you, sing, read you poetry; he wants genuine romance and not just physical intimacy. It is as Beta NF as it gets. That also does brings us back a little to his Enneagram. Despite his black/white thinking, and his whole ~ gimmick ~ with his image as a Folk Hero... Wyll never did it for the approval or attention of others, as he said so himself. What mattered to him was genuinely being the last bit of "good" left in a hopeless world; not the recognition that came with it. There's no real reason for him to be typed as either E1/E3, for his self-idealization seems to come from a place of... E6. Which other Enneagram idealizes the sense of the "heroic"? The image of grandiose? The need to either worship or become a hero, someone who protects the weak? Both Naranjo and other types have mentioned the E6 as the most prone to heroic idealizations, be it of the self or the external. Some of Wyll's quotes are like: "A hero with heart." "Defender of the people." "The pride of the gate." They connect not only with the E6's heroic ideals, but also with the E6's defence mechanism of "Splitting"; which is characterized by seeing things as, what again? *Black and white.* I can see that is very consistent with Wyll's character, being the most noble of the companions and the most underrated one as well. He seems to be the kind of guy that saw evil rise and promised himself to erradicate it - mostly out of fear. If he doesn't do it, who will? He's my favorite character in BG3 for sure, and every time I look up the internet for him, 99% of the people have no idea *who* Wyll actually is, and their commentaries feel completely disconnected from Wyll's personality - as evidenced by also the PDB consensus. With a cast full of broken characters, someone that has his mental capacities in check is seen as "lesser", and not paid as much attention to. It is odd indeed.
