I understand why some people might think Xavier is an INFP—his gentle voice, and soft features can give off that impression. I also feel like he was presented a bit differently at the beginning of the game. Additionally, I think the MBTI community has a common stereotype that ISTPs are always rough or harsh, which isn’t entirely true. Because of this, some people may be reluctant to accept that he could fit this type. I’m not a professional in MBTI, but I do have a solid understanding of Socionics, so I’ll focus more on that perspective. Xavier is clearly an SLI and a representative of the Delta quadra. At first, I had some doubts and considered which introvert from the fourth quadra he might be—EII or SLI. While these types are fundamentally different, they do share some traits in Reinin dichotomies. Given his appearance and voice, I initially hesitated as well, and it’s worth noting that many fans have voted him as an INFP, likely due to these gentle characteristics. However, upon closer examination, his traits align more closely with the SLI type in Socionics. From all of his character cards, I’ve gathered that he is a very grounded person. He pays a lot of attention to comfort, scents, and tastes, and he is also highly tactile. Some people might be thrown off by the fact that he burns food from time to time, but other cards suggest that he actually knows how to cook. Besides, not all sensory types (especially men) are skilled in this area in real life. At the very least, he definitely enjoys eating. Xavier also uses physical force from time to time. Typically, EII types try to avoid using black sensing (extroverted sensing, Se) because it makes them uncomfortable. Meanwhile, SLI types can resort to it when circumstances demand it or when they are pushed into a corner. This isn’t just evident in combat but also in his interactions with the protagonist, particularly when he’s jealous—like in the scene where he pushes her onto a chair. Additionally, he isn’t very attuned to the emotions of others or his own feelings. While he does offer the protagonist support, there are plenty of scenes that highlight his struggles in this area. He can also be blunt or even rude to strangers. If he were an EII, he would have a much better understanding of interpersonal relationships, as EIIs naturally excel in relationship ethics (Fi).
