riku's profile is essentially dead, but i really need to explain why 8 core (specifically sp8) just doesn't work for riku. first of all, 8s externalize their anger, which riku very, very rarely does. rather, he redirects his anger towards himself 99% of the time. yes, he's very sensitive to injustice, but if we were only typing characters based on this information, sora would also have an 8 fix; so would roxas, so would ventus, so would most kingdom hearts characters. riku is obsessed with his identity, & his lack of sense of self. he suffers because of this, but he holds onto that same pain because that's exactly where he believes to find himself. 8s are characterized by rebelliousness, dominance, & often even insensitivity; when does riku show this, considering that he's so emotionally dependent on other people (this isn't as visible in kh3 because he has already found himself. that, + bad writing lol)? 8s are independent at heart: they can value people's opinions in the case of the social subtype, but that's about it. they draw a very defined line between themselves & others, but riku only hides from other people because he doesn't want them to see him the way he sees himself, NOT because he's scared of being taken advantage of. riku is always obsessively contemplating what he's missing. he compares himself to others, & then resents himself for not keeping up. again, he's not afraid of being vulnerable because people might take advantage of him, but because he's scared to face his own vulnerabilities instead of just swallowing it all down. edit: thank you for making ISFP the consensus 😭 INTJ 8 doesn't fit him at all
