[1/3] 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐗𝟕 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬.. 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 SX7 alongside SP2 and SX2 are the most Sanguine Characters in all of the Enneagram. What I’ve noticed is a tendency for a lot of people to confuse the SX7 with a SX4/ SO4 (due to their intuitive and dreamy nature). However E4 and SX7 are actually fundamentally very different. The entire psychology of the SX7 lies on an over exaggeration of pain, hence a severe fear of experiencing pain, and a subsequent panic, avoidance and escapism. E4’s are depressive characters and they don’t fear the same “annihilation” and are much more accepting of negative emotions. SX7’s ARENT. This is why Jules (Euphoria) who many typed SO4 would NEVER be such a depressive and masochistic character. If anything Jules would be SP2 rather than E4. So please don’t sssociate SX7 with E4. Another thing I’ve seen is people overestimating the mentalism and lack of touch with reality for this type. Yes, they tend to be much more dreamy and possibility chasing but let’s remember EN and Ne actually lives in the moment. It’s IN (Ni types) that are considerably more detached from reality. So, if you have typed E4 for ages and now think you’re SX7 I would highly recommend you to research E4 in deeper depth because SX7 is not SO4 2.0. If anything it’s just an intellectual E2. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐗𝟕 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞? The neurotic need is Suggestibility, the seeking of mental inspiration, something new and better and entertaining, something fulfilling to the ego, pleasurable to the mind, all things that satisfies the person, especially mentally. The SX7 is the most permissive and egotistical E7. It is also a classic charlatan. A seducer who projects a flamboyant personality and tries to use charisma and intellectual intrigue to generate admiration and love. The SX7 is highly indulgent. It doesn’t like constraints, limits, or authority. But this is not a very aggressive character. It’s more witty, charming, and evasive. Rebellion is expressed intellectually, as they’re focused mostly on their own ideas, and are guided by their own curiosity. They are highly innovative, exploratory, and often whimsical. Combining this with intense selfishness, they are also quite exploitative and self-absorbed. Something that is quite noticeable in this subtype is that they are great mental seducers, people who know how to generate interest and fascination in others, but often, they don’t follow through.
