I understand that the intensity of an 8 can look like that of a sexual 1, but I argue that Lady De Bourgh is sx/so 1w2. She’s intense and domineering, has a rigid ideal of propriety, and is extremely involved in “fixing” the lives of not just her family (from whom she expects obedience and order and flips out when Darcy strays from her arrangement with him and Anne) but will even go so far as to dictate the behaviors of her neighbors and later confront (read: bully) Elizabeth over her low connections when she hears the rumor that she and Mr Darcy are engaged.

Lady Catherine de Bourgh is Mr. Darcy’s aunt and Mr. Collins’s patron. Lady Catherine is a haughty and domineering woman. She wants Mr. Darcy, her nephew, to marry her only daughter, Anne. When Lady Catherine meets Elizabeth Bennet during Elizabeth’s visit to see the Collinses, Lady Catherine notes her unusual and bright nature and remarks condescendingly on Elizabeth’s lower social standing.
