Alastor (Ancient Greek: Ἀλάστωρ, Alástōr) is a Greek god associated with justice, retribution, memory, covenants, oaths and contracts, blood feuds, famine, balance, rebels and outcasts, mystery and secrets, and catharsis. His name derives from the Greek term meaning “avenger” or “one who does not forget,” reflecting his role as an inexorable agent of justice and remembrance. Said to have been born in Achaea, he is described as the only son of Zeus and Themis. In this tradition, he is the brother of the Moirai (the Fates) and the Horae (the Seasons). Alastor functions as an enforcer of divine justice, particularly in matters involving broken oaths, familial vengeance, and moral transgression. He is frequently depicted holding or balancing scales, symbolizing equity and measured retribution.
